CARING OILY SKIN

Caring oily skin:

Almost everyone has an oily skin during adolescence which makes acne and dandruff a common problem at this age. As the skin matures, this condition improves; however, in many cases the mature skin too may have oily areas. Adult’s oily skin is different from teenage oily skin and must be treated differently.
Some factors that are the causes of oily skin are hormones, diet, environment, genetics and emotions..

Cure and Treatment for oily skin:

An oily skin is basically a healthy skin. Hence this conditions can be corrected with little time and effort. The oil helps to retain the water contents in the skin as it acts as a shield against evaporation.

Cleansing is very important for an oily skin. The most effective cleanser for an oily skin is water soluble milky liquid or a light vanishing cold cream. Since an oily skin produces more then enough oil, naturally avoid creams, lubricants or night oils as these are primarily emulsions of oil and water. Use a liquid cleanser which is not absorbed by the skin. Remove the cleanser with tissue or cotton wool. After cleansing the face wash with warm water and mild soap, working the lather into your skin with fingertips. Rinse soap with warm water then splash cool water and finally cold water which helps to close pores. You have rinsed off every trace of the cleanser, dry your skin and use a lotion to pamper the delicate areas and avoid using dry soaps, astringents on these areas.

Face packs are also helpful to correct the skin’s oil secretion. They help to lighten pores and refine oily skins. Special types of packs are available for oily skins.

Make-up and oily skin:
Water based, oil free make-up is the right type for an oily skin. Use liquid foundation, dry brush on rouge, eye shadow and light lipsticks. A liquid foundation is preferable to a cream type for oily skins. If the result is oily, lightly press a tissue to remove excess grease and brush on loose face powder lightly.
